Performed by the Citizens Young Co.
The Citizens Young Co. perform a raunchy comedy full of saucy innuendo and song based on an ancient Greek comedy.
Disillusioned with their humdrum existence in the city, a pair of wanderers seek a better way of life. With help from the self-appointed King Tereus - a man transformed into a Hoopoe Bird - an unlikely alliance between the humans and a great flock of fantastical birds creates a new city in the skies and holds the gods to ransom.
Stephen Greenhorn, creator of River City, Passing Places, Sunshine on Leith and episodes for Doctor Who, has based his play on Aristophanes’ comedy.
